The User-Agent HTTP header is transmitted as part of every HTTP request from a client to a server. It is commonly used to idenfity a browser rendering engine, and many content providers use this header to determine whether to display the normal (desktop) version of the web page content, mobile version (WAP) or mobile optimized (commonly 'WebKit').
